About the author Hemanta Mishra has worked with the Government of Nepal, National Trust for Nature Conservation (formerly KMTNC), the Smithsonian Institution, the World Wildlife Fund, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Global Environment Facility, and other major conservation groups. He was a key player in the team that preserved and stabilized the wildlife habitat in Nepal. He has been awarded the J. Paul Getty Wildlife Conservation Prize and is credited with halting the extinction of the rhino and the tiger in his homeland.
