About the author A historian scholar and researcher who pioneered writing Nepalese history based on indigenous resources, Baburam Acharya was the first and only historian laureate of Nepal. He is credited with discovering the Nepalese name "Sagarmatha" for Mt. Everest, the world's tallest mountain. An honorary member of the Royal Nepal Academy, he was awarded the "Tribhuvan Award" in 1963. ?
