About the author
Professor Braterman spent most of his career at Glasgow University and the University of North Texas, and now lives in Glasgow. He holds one undergraduate and two graduate degrees from Oxford, and has published over 120 scientific papers and book chapters. He is on the committee of the British Centre for Science Education ( http://www.bcseweb.org.uk/), and his past collaborations include NASA s Astrobiology Institute, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and the Sandia/UNM Materials Research Laboratory.
