About the author
For over 10 years,?Benjamin Thong?has been teaching and helping students better understand the study of Economics. His interactions with his students have allowed him to understand their challenges, inspiring him to develop effective learning materials specifically for pre-university Economics education. Formerly an Economics teacher and lecturer at St Andrew's Junior College, Singapore, between 2009 and 2019, Benjamin was also the Assistant Year Head for Student Development. Before entering the teaching service, Benjamin completed his Bachelor's degree, majoring in Economics and minoring in the Southeast Asian Studies, at the National University of Singapore (NUS). After graduation, he received the Ministry of Education Singapore Teaching Award to pursue the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University (NIE/NTU) Singapore, focusing on teaching Economics to pre-university students. After leaving the teaching service in 2019, Benjamin founded the Social Scientist Academy, a learning institution focusing on the learning of Economics in Singapore. He is also the Principal Tutor in the Academy.
