Introduction and Education

Dr. Durgaprasad Agrawal was born on 24 November 1945 in Udaipur. After completing his schooling from KPMP Higher Secondary School, Durga Prasad Agrawal passed his graduation (BA) from Rajasthan University and post graduation (MA) examination with a gold medal from Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. Thereafter, Durga Prasad Agrawal completed his PhD in Hindi subject from MohanLal Sukhadia University, Udaipur and obtained a doctorate.

Ten books of Dr. Durgaprasad Agrawal have been published and he has also written in various journals of India. Dr. Durgaprasad Agrawal has a keen interest in all kinds of literature, education, society, politics, environment, film, music, dance, photography, videography, broadcasting, communication, communication, technology etc. latest activities, trends and techniques of all fields. He has a deep interest in the knowledge and use of them. Nowadays, he is retired, while living in Jaipur, literary practice continues uninterruptedly.

Work experience

After teaching as lecturer in the College Education Service of the Government of Rajasthan from 7 July 1967; Reader; Dr. Durga Prasad Agrawal retired on 30 November 2003 after three years as Joint Director in Principal and Directorate (now Commissionerate) College Education, Rajasthan, Jaipur. Along with teaching Dr. Durgaprasad Agrawal  has run  ‘Sirohi Film Society’ for almost ten years and has been an active member of the selection committee of Jaipur International Film Festival.

Writing & Awards

About ten books of Dr. Durgaprasad Agrawal have been published. Dr. Durgaprasad Agrawal has been awarded the 'Kanhaiya Lal Sahal Award of Rajasthan Sahitya Akademi' for his travelogue work 'Aankhan Dekhi'. With special interest in the criticism of Hindi fiction, as well as regular writing on various contemporary topics, the works of Dr. Durgaprasad Agrawal has been published in almost all major Hindi newspapers and magazines of the country. His many articles are available on the Internet as well.

Dr. Durgaprasad Agrawal has done a lot of translation from English to Hindi, translated from English to Hindi for ‘Manushi’, a magazine of women's discussion. The published translation of the memoir Profiles and Letters of former External Affairs Minister Shri Natwar Singh titled 'Chehre Aur Chittiyaan' has been highly acclaimed.

Dr. Durgaprasad Agrawal has written a weekly column titled ‘World of Books’ on the latest books in the ‘Nagar Parishisht. Just Jaipur’ of ‘Rajasthan Patrika’ for more than a year. Then the same column was published in the ‘Sunday Parishisht of ‘Rajasthan Patrika’ for more than two years in the name of ‘Kitabo Ki Duniya’.
Dr. Durgaprasad Agrawal has written for a long time in the ‘Rajasthan Samrat’, in the book review column, in the magazine ‘Year Book’, in the introduction article on the popular books of the year for many years, in the bilingual monthly magazine 'Simply Jaipur', 'The World of Words' and the afternoon daily 'News Today'. He has published a weekly column titled 'Kuch Ihar Kuch Uther', guest editorial every week in the prestigious daily 'Rashtradoot'.

परिचय एवं शिक्षा

डॉ दुर्गाप्रसाद अग्रवाल का जन्म 24 नवम्बर 1945 को उदयपुर में हुआ था। स्कूली शिक्षा के पी एम पी हायर सेकेंडरी स्कूल से पूरी करने के बाद, दुर्गा प्रसाद अग्रवाल ने राजस्थान यूनिवर्सिटी से स्नातक (बी ए ) व स्नातकोत्तर (एम ए) की परीक्षा मोहन लाल सुखाडिया विश्वविद्यालय, उदयपुर से स्वर्ण पदक के साथ उत्तीर्ण की। तत्पश्चात दुर्गा प्रसाद अग्रवाल ने मोहन लाल सुखाडिया विश्वविद्यालय, उदयपुर से हिंदी विषय में पीएचडी पूरी कर डॉक्टर की उपाधि प्राप्त की। 

डॉ दुर्गाप्रसाद अग्रवाल की दस पुस्तकें प्रकाशित हो चुकी हैं और भारत के विभिन्न पत्र पत्रिकाओं में भी लिखा है। डॉ दुर्गाप्रसाद अग्रवाल की सभी किस्म के साहित्य, शिक्षा, समाज, राजनीति, पर्यावरण, फिल्म, संगीत, नृत्य, फोटोग्राफी, वीडियोग्राफी, प्रसारण, सम्प्रेषण, संचार, टेक्नोलॉजी आदि में गहरी दिलचस्पी रही है ,सभी क्षेत्रो की नवीनतम गतिविधियों, प्रवृतियों और प्रविधियों की जानकारी और उनके प्रयोग की गहरी उत्कंठा है। आजकल सेवा निवृत्त हैं, जयपुर में रहते हुए साहित्य साधना अनवरत जारी है। 

कार्य- अनुभव 

7 जुलाई 1967 से राजस्थान सरकार की कॉलेज शिक्षा सेवा में, व्याख्याता; उपाचार्य; प्रचार्य और निदेशालय (अब आयुक्तालय ) महाविद्यालय शिक्षा, राजस्थान, जयपुर में तीन वर्ष संयुक्त निदेशक रहने के बाद 30 नवंबर 2003 को डॉ दुर्गा प्रसाद अग्रवाल सेवानिवृत हुए। अध्ययन अध्यापन के साथ ही साथ लगभग दस वर्ष तक सिरोही फिल्म सोसाइटी का सञ्चालन डॉ दुर्गाप्रसाद अग्रवाल ने किया है व  जयपुर इंटरनेशनल फिल्म फेस्टीवल की चयन समिति के सक्रिय सदस्य रहे हैं। 

लेखन एवं पुरस्कार

डॉ दुर्गाप्रसाद अग्रवाल की लगभग दस पुस्तकें प्रकाशित हुई हैं। यात्रा वृत्तांत कृति 'आंखन देखी' के लिए डॉ दुर्गाप्रसाद अग्रवाल को 'राजस्थान साहित्य अकादमी का कन्हैया लाल सहल पुरस्कार' से सम्मानित किया गया है। हिंदी कथा साहित्य की आलोचना में विशेष रुचि,  साथ ही विविध सम-सामयिक विषयों पर भी नियमित लेखन, देश और हिंदी की लगभग सभी प्रमुख पत्र – पत्रिकाओ में डॉ दुर्गाप्रसाद अग्रवाल की रचनाएँ प्रकाशित हुई हैं। इंटरनेट पर भी अनेक रचनाएँ उपलब्ध हैं। 

डॉ दुर्गाप्रसाद अग्रवाल ने अंग्रेजी से हिंदी में खूब अनुवाद, स्त्री विमर्श की पत्रिका मानुषी के लिए अंग्रेजी से हिंदी में विपुल अनुवाद किया है।  पूर्व विदेश मंत्री श्री नटवर सिंह की संस्मरणात्मक पुस्तक प्रोफाइल्स एंड लेटर्स का 'चेहरेऔर चिट्ठियां' शीर्षक से प्रकाशित अनुवाद अत्यंत प्रशंसित रहा है। 

डॉ दुर्गाप्रसाद अग्रवाल ने  एक वर्ष से अधिक समय तक राजस्थान पत्रिका के नगर पारिशिष्ट जस्ट जयपुर में नवीनतम किताबो पर वर्ल्ड ऑफ़ बुक्स नाम से एक साप्ताहिक कॉलम का लेखन किया है।  फिर यही कॉलम दो वर्ष से भी अधिक समय तक  राजस्थान पत्रिका के रविवारीय पारिशिष्ट में किताबी की दुनिया के नाम से भी प्रकाशित हुआ। डॉ दुर्गाप्रसाद अग्रवाल ने लम्बे अरसे तक राजस्थान सम्राट में पुस्तक समीक्षा सतम्भ, पत्रिका इयर बुक में, कई वर्षो से वर्ष की चर्चित पुस्तकों पर परिचय आलेख, द्विभाषी मासिक पत्रिका 'सिम्पली जयपुर' में 'शब्दों की दुनिया' और अपराह्न दैनिक 'न्यूज़ टुडे' में 'कुछ इधर कुछ उधर' शीर्षक से एक साप्ताहिक कॉलम, प्रतीष्ठित दैनिक ‘राष्ट्रदूत’ में हर सप्ताह अतिथि सम्पादकीय का प्रकाशन किया है
