About the author
Tahmima Anam was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1975. She attended Mount Holyoke College and Harvard University, where she earned a PhD in Social Anthropology in 2005. Tahmima has been published in Granta Magazine and The New Statesman. Her debut novel, A Golden Age, won the Commonwealth Writers? Award for Best First Book and was shortlisted for The Guardian First Book Award and the Costa First Novel Award. She lives in London. Photo Credit: Roland Lamb
