SynopsisDrawing on a wide variety of sources, Swapan Dasgupta traces the evolution of Right Wing thought in India. From the reflections of Rabindranath Tagore, the musings of Aurobindo Ghosh, the writings of C Rajagopalachari and many other distinguished thinkers, the origins of today's Right were forged in the vortex of Hindu nationalism a century and more ago. Identifying the significant tracts and theories that shaped the Right and which influence it to this day, Dasgupta's informative and path breaking introduction sheds much needed light on this phenomenon. This is a vital insight into one of the most important ideologies of our times.
