About the author
"Manav Kaul was born in Baramula (Kashmir) and brought up in Hoshangabad (Madhya Pradesh). In 2004, a dream for a theatre group was taking shape somewhere in his mind. His brilliantly-directed plays, like ‘Shakkar Ke Paanch Daane’ and ‘Park’, made their mark in national and international theatre circles, and his group ‘Aranya’ became well-known in the creative sphere. In his play ‘Pile Skootar Wala Aadmi’, Manav’s poetic style of writing was compared with veterans like Nirmal Verma and Vinod Kumar Shukla. His tryst with the cine world started with ‘Jajantaram Mamantaram’ in 2003 and he has been praised for his roles in films like ‘Kai Po Che’, ‘Vazir’ and ‘Jai Gangaajal’. His short story collection ‘Theek Tumhare Peechhe’ was ‘most loved story book of 2016’. Prem Kabootar is his second book.
