Bhaskar Ghose Bhaskar Ghose was educated in Mumbai and Delhi and joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1960, retiring from it after 36 years. Since then he has been a writer and columnist, and has written regularly for a number of major Indian newspapers and journals. He has been involved with theatre for the last fifty odd years and acted in, and directed over, forty plays. His first book, Doordarshan Days and his second, The Service of the State ? The IAS Reconsidered were published by Penguin. This is his third book, and first novel. He is married to Alarmel Valli and lives in Delhi.
